He Was The Labrador 9 comments

Sing along time!
(apologies to Queen: We Are The Champions)

“He Was The Labrador”

He paid his dues
But had a good time.
He posed for pictures
And he had some good times

And bad days ‒
He had a few.
His hair was shaved from surgery and shots
But love came through.

(And so we just had fun and fun, and fun, and fun)

He was the Labrador, my friends,
And he kept on fighting ’til the end.
He was the Labrador.
He was the Labrador.
No time for squirrels
‘Cause he was the Labrador of Jack’s World.

He chased some frisbees
And some tennis balls.
He brought us laughs and fun and everything that goes with it.
It was a ball.

But the Mean Old Nasty Tumor,
Had other plans.
It was Jack’s challenge and legacy on the internet,
To chase away the blues.

(And so we just had fun and fun, and fun, and fun)

He was the Labrador, my friends,
And he kept on fighting ’til the end.
He was the Labrador.
He was the Labrador.
No time for squirrels
‘Cause he was the Labrador of Jack’s World.

He was the Labrador, my friends,
And he kept on fighting ’til the end.
He was the Labrador.
He was the Labrador.
No time for squirrels
‘Cause he was the Labrador…….

Still sad. We are struggling here too. Between mast cell and now a torn meniscus, Lila keeps on going. We know her days are numbered but she is a Labrador. When I read these they bring tears to my eyes. I hope the good memories will outweigh the final days.

Wow – this is tough. As I listen and look at my guy on the floor next to me (and we all know they are our shadow), this song now has a new meaning. Wish Jack was still with you.

Yes, Jack you the Champion Labrador. You fought the good fight against all odds. You are at peace now. No more Drs. No more M.O.N.Ts. You are very very missed here on earth. Love You Handsome Jack
